What can I say, I like what I like. If you're curious, read on...

I apologize in advance, but many of these books are by the same author. I did mention this before, but I like what I like. And what I like, is a book that makes your soul cry.
“I wish the story had ended differently. But some endings can't be rewritten." -Kailah Ensley
This is more true than many of us care to admit. But books have the advantage of being a form of art. And the best art is beautiful - often in its simplicity - and brutally honest. My favorite books have a few things in common, which are love and romance, pain and regret, comedy and philosophy. You know, just to name a few things. ;)
I'm always on the lookout for a new favorite, of course. I don't want to get stuck in one place, as a reader and as a writer. I have even found a few new favorites this year. But my all time favorites will always be:
1) The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (I cry every time I read the book AND every time I watch the movie)
2) Turtles All the Way Down by John Green (I warned you about my favorite authors, but what can I say? His voice is so relatable and honest, I can't help myself!)
3) Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte (you'll see the pattern in a second)
4) Villette by Charlotte Bronte
5) The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte
6) The Professor by Charlotte Bronte
7) Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
8) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (see what I mean?)
9) The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (hear me: this is a MASTERPIECE of history, romance, suspense, horror . . . I could go on, but I think that's enough)
10) The Shadow Land by Elizabeth Kostova (this is beautiful, heart-breaking, a classic that will soon be your new favorite, too!)
I could go on for soooo much longer. But I will leave you with this: I love books with mystery, romance, philosophy, science fiction, and so much more. Even better if it has all of the above. This list could be much longer, trust me. They make me feel so many things, and I can't get enough of them. The best books make you come back for more.
Lastly, I do have to recommend one more: The Big One by yours truly. I would be honored to be listed among the above authors one day. Until then, give it a read.
